Upper back pain usually occurs as the result of poor posture, muscle overuse, or injury. Many people experience pain and stiffness in their upper back as a result of sitting in a hunched position. Upper back pain may display as dull aching pain and stiffness or sharp and burning pain. It is important to address this type of pain as pain in this area can result in stiffness and dysfunction which can also affect your neck, arms, and lower back.
